Late Afternoon, Whipstick Gully, Warrandyte
When we walk in the bush up behind our place, I'm constantly taking photos of seemingly the same things, hillocks, gullies, rocks, embankments, and of course flowers & trees. Often the exact same spot will catch my eye on different days because of the way the light changes the scene so dramatically. I love the colours in the rocks of the cliffs, glowing against the shadows of the afternoon, and the way nature's palette is so perfectly harmonised. The Australian bush is truly a wonderland, to be softly trod and carefully protected.
This painting has been made using artist quality paints, ink, charcoal and collaged paint peelings from my palette.
The painting is signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. It is also registered with the National Registry of Australian art and artists.
