Moon Dance - mixed media on reclaimed denim
Part of my "Bushscapes and Moonlight" series, which was displayed at NaNY Gallery, within the beautiful Now & Not Yet Cafe in Warrandyte.
We do lots of night time bushwalks around Warrandyte and this painting is a depiction of a small hillock on the edge of a track that always catches my eye. The colour of the bare ground is pale, like dried clay. Not much grows on there except a few straggly grasses and one small tree. Everytime we walk past I seem to see a new detail of that little hillock, depending on the time of day and the time of year. I've seen wildflowers on there in the past but they seem to have disappeared for now. Perhaps they are just dormant for a while.
The painting has been made on a piece of reclaimed denim, using artist quality acrylic paint, pastels, charcoal and pigment ink.
The painting is signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. It is also registered with the National Registry of Australian art and artists.
Framed in Australian Sustainable hardwood.
Dimensions inclusive of frame: 30.7 x 38.8cm
