Twilight at Fourth Hill
Part of my "Bushscapes and Moonlight" series, currently on display at NaNY Gallery, within the beautiful Now & Not Yet Cafe in Warrandyte.
The artwork was inspired by one of my favourite bushwalks up the hill from our place. The creek runs below this spot, looking up towards the trees on the hill.
(people still pan for gold here - although there can't be much left now - a few specks)
Powerful owls nest in these parts and for nearly 20 years we have been observing one particular pair bring up 1 or 2 chicks with success almost every year.
If you look closely you might see that I have put in a tree hollow to represent the owls.
The lines criss-crossing all the way down the hill are a reference to the tree roots interconnecting with each other and with the ground, going all the way down to the creek where the view is from.
The painting has been made on a piece of reclaimed denim, using artist quality acrylic paint, pastels, charcoal and pigment ink.
It is signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, and also is registered with the National Registry of Australian art and artists.
Framed in Australian Sustainable hardwood.
