View of the Old Quarry

Depicting the view looking up at the old quarry in Whipstick Gully, in the old goldmining town of Warrandyte. I have left out the vegetation that grows here, to concentrate on the colours and textures of the cliff face.  I love how the colours of the rocks change depending on the light; pre-dawn brings the deep browns shown here, whilst in the afternoon the rocks almost glow, the light producing a pale blush colour, like clay. (shown in my painting "Late Afternoon, Whipstick Gully")

The painting is signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.  It is also registered with the National Registry of Australian art and artists.

Framed in a custom floating frame made from Australian Sustainable hardwood.
