Attendees mingled and chatted, sipping champagne and browsing the diverse collection of art on display by four artists of the Luck family, exhibiting together for the first time.

Several pieces were snapped up by art lovers and collectors, and many discussions were had about which works were their favourites.

A moving tribute to local artist, the late Don Luck, was included in an extraordinary and soulful opening speech by Kay Scarlett, who masterfully told a captivated audience the story of these four artists of the Luck family, their connection to the Southern Highlands and the combining of their voices through their art.

The exhibition was declared open with the reading of a poem, 'The Raiment of the Gums' written by family matriarch, the late Molly Luck, penned many years ago yet fitting into the moment as if it had been written for it."

The exhibition is now on show at Retford Park until 16th October 2022. 

Fortuna x Quattro ( 'Luck x 4' ) is a tri-generational group show featuring a collection of art by four artists of the Luck family.

Incorporating works by renowned Australian Bird & Wildlife Artist James Luck, his sister Melbourne artist Jacinta Payne, their niece Elise Abotomey, an emerging portraiture line artist, and a posthumous retrospective celebrating the life and art of Don Luck, father and grandfather.
